The most important choice we make every day, through our entire life experience, is choosing to live from the inside out. After leading a workshop on the Inspired Life, this bubbled up for me. An attendee said this might be a good opportunity to find out why Kimberly, (meaning me), is always happy. In the moment, it got me thinking that choosing to live life from the inside out is not being happy 100% of the time. It doesn’t mean you don’t go through contrast in life.
Contrast is simple things like getting stuck in traffic. Contrast is also harder challenges in life like the death of a loved one. It’s all contrast. If you are in the human experience, you will face contrast. It is what it is. The most important choice you will ever make is your perspective.
I have learned two elements of reframing and choosing your perspective. The most important choice you will ever make is choosing your perspective because it causes you to be willing to reframe. No matter what the contrast, step back and take a few deep breaths. Instead of saying: This is awful. How am I going to get through this? You say:
I am going to get through this. What can I learn from it? How can I grow from this experience? How can I become stronger? More compassionate? More loving? How can I grow in a way to make me more of who I am meant to be in this life?
Every life experience will give you an opportunity to learn, to grow and to become more of who you really are. At the end of the day, that’s what you came here to do. The most important choice you can make is your perspective. Choose to see things differently. Connect with who you are and move forward from that place. You will choose the more positive, loving perspective that will serve you in a beautiful way!
